Goa from Hyderabad for long weekend (4days / 5 nights) - North Goa and Badami.

 Are you a Resident of Hyderabad? Do you want to visit Goa for the long weekend by your own vehicle (Bike/ Car)? If you have a scooter then also you can manage to go by your vehicle. But just remember you have to take 15 minutes to break for every on average of 80km (depending on the capacity of the scooter). So, let's plan our Goa trip for a long weekend.

Here I am considering my vehicle as Honda Activa (125cc Scooter) and I am planning to leave from Jubilee Bus station.

Day 0:

18:00  - Jubilee Bus station is our starting point.

20:00 - Reach Sadashivpet for the dinner break.

20:30 - Leave from Sadashivpet

--------- 93 Km. ------------

22:00 - Reach the Humnabad of Karnataka. Take a night halt at Humnabad. Here you can get hotels from Rs. 600 - 2000. Please remember, if you are planning to take a night halt at any place, please book your accommodation a minimum of 2 hours before you reach your destination.

Day 1:

Today will be very hectic due to long driving hours till you reach Goa.

4:00 - Leave from Humnabad as early as possible.

5:30 - You will reach Gulbarga. Take a tea break at Gulbarga.

6:00 - Try to leave from Gulbarga.

--------- 90Km. --------

7:30 - You will reach Sindagi. Here take a break and have breakfast.

8:00 - Try to leave from Sindagi. Ride till Telgi of Karnataka, which is beside the state highway.

9:00 - Take a fuel break here with some coffee break.

9:15 - Leave from Telgi. Ride till Salalli of Karnataka.

10:30 - Take a fuel and hydration break at Salalli.

10:45 - Try to leave from Salalli. Ride till Belgaum.

From Salalli try to download maps offline, as ghats to Goa will start from Belgaum and you will face a lot of network issues.

12:15 - Reach Belgaum. Have another fuel stop here and have lunch at Belgaum. 

13:00 - Try to leave from Belgaum. As Ghats will start from Belgaum, try to take a break for every 50km.

14:00 - You will reach Chorla. Take a break at Chorla.

14:15 - Leave from Chorla. Now You can ride directly to Anjuna beach in North Goa.

15:30 - You will reach your destination in Goa. Try to take accommodation near Anjuna beach, as you can get hotels here starting from Rs.1000/- in offseason, and in on-season, the prices will start from Rs. 1500/-. 

After reaching Goa, get fresh-up your self and drive to Chapora fort.

16:00 - Reach Chapora fort and drive to Vagator beach. have tea time snacks at Vagator beach. Try to be at Vagator beach before sunset, as the sunset view near Vagator beach is really awestruck. Remember Chapora fort closes at 17:30.

17:45 - Reach Vagator beach. 

                                       

19:30 - After sunset reaches back to your hotel and gets back to your party outfit and head towards Tito's lane near Baga beach. 

20:30 - Reach Tito's lane to enjoy party nights in any one of the night clubs, or roam around Tito's lane or sit in any shack till midnight in Baga beach.

             

Day 2: 

6:00 - Head to Arambol beach and have a sunbath.

                                   

8:00 - Reach Candolim beach. 

                                                         

10:00 - Reach Sienquerium beach.

                                     

12:00 - Visit Aguada fort. After visiting the Aguada fort.


It is constructed in the 17th Century by the Portuguese. The fort is a defense headquarters for the Portuguese against Dutch and Marathas. This fort is divided into two segments: the upper part acted as a fort and watering station, while the lower part served as a safe berth for Portuguese ships.

15:00 - Reach Dona Paula Beach and enjoy water sports in Dona Paula beach.

                                   

18:45 - Visit Mandovi river cruise.

                                            

21:00 - Arpora night market.

                                            

23:00 - Go to the curlies beach shack near Anjuna beach.

Day 3:

1:00 - Come to your room and take rest.

7:00 - Wakeup and have your complimentary breakfast and vacate your room. Then head to Calangute beach. 

9:30 - Reach Reis Magos fort. On the way take pics at the Church of Mae De Deus

11:00 - Head to Houses of Goa Museum.

                                       

12:30 - After that, head to Mahalakshmi temple. 

13:30 - You will reach Mahalakshmi temple. Visit the temple and have lunch on the island.

                                          


15:00 - Come to the mainland and visit the Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception and Basilica of Bom Jesus.

16:00 - Head to Manghesh temple.

16:30 - Visit Manghesh temple.

                      

17:00 - Have snacks near Manghesh temple and head back to Hyderabad.

17:30 - Start towards Chorla of Karnataka.

19:00 - Reach Chorla. And have a coffee break in Chorla.

19:15 - Start from Chorla.

20:30 - Reach Belgaum, have your dinner at Belgaum, and have a night halt at Belgaum.

Day 4:

5:00 - Leave for Yaragatti.

6:00 - Reach Yaragatti and have a coffee break-in Yaragatti.

6:15 - Head to Badami,

8:00 - Reach Badami. Have Breakfast at Badami. In Badami visit Agastya lake, Badami fort, Bhutanatha temple, Archeological museum, and Mallikarjuna temple.

12:00 - Then head to Mahakuteswara temple.

 12:30 - Visit the temple.

                                      

13:30 - Leave from Mahakuteswara temple and head to Bhanshankari shakti peeth.

14:00 - Have lunch near Shakti peeth and visit the temple.

15:30 - Head to Pattadakal

16:00 - Reach Pattadakal and visit Pattadakal

16:30 - Leave for Aihole.

16:45 - Reach Aihole and visit Aihole.

17:15 - Have coffee in Aihole and leave from Aihole.

17:30 - Leave Aihole.

18:45 - Reach Lingsugur. Have hydration and a fuel break at Lingsugur. 

19:00 - Leave for Raichur.

21:00 - Reach Raichur and have a night halt at Raichur.

Day 5:

4:00 - Leave Raichur.

6:00 - Reach Mahabubnagar with a 15 minutes break in between.

6:30 - Leave from Mahabubnagar

8:30 - Reach Jubilee bus station with a 15 minutes break on your way (most probably at Kothur)

Things to Pack

A Rucksack, Jerry can for extra petrol, portable stove with butane gas cylinder, Raincoat, Sunscreen (SPF 50), Yoga mat, a tool kit, air pump.  

Things to Remember

This plan is for the people going by Honda Activa (125cc).

Don't drink while you are driving.

During driving make yourself hydrated as much as possible.

Ahobilam in one day

Ahobilam is traditionally regarded as the place where Vishnu in the form of Narasimha killed the  rakshasa   Hiranyakashipu  in order to save his devotee Prahlada. The legend says that Narasimha emerged from a rock pillar to kill the rakshasa. The moment is represented in a number of the  murti  in the various temples. Also, Garuda prayed for a vision of Narasimha in the form of Avatar, to fulfill his wish, and settled in nine forms across the hills in Ahobilam. It is considered as Navanarasimha kshetra.
